Ink en Soi is a duo that plays a hybrid style of alternative experimental visual electronic alternative post rock (defined by the band as Puzzle Rock) with a mixture of multiple languages and sounds, originally created and formed by two members: Joey and Prex, who played as support musicians for various groups, singers and musicians including renowned acts. The band began their activities in 2009 playing some gigs, going on hiatus by the end of the year for some structure reforms. In early 2010 the band resumes its activities and begun production and preparations for the release of their first work, a mini-album entitled Puzzle Work, working with names such as Thiago Gomes (Ocean Studio), Jona Liu (Amplifire / Dynamix, Australia) and Brian Gardner (Bernie Grundman Hollywood, CA.).
After the launch of the mini-album in November 2010 the band performed a short tour in Brazil to promote the new mini-album. in February 2011 they left for a U.S tour playing 20 dates around New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut events, playing with bands such as We Came the Romans, Deftones, Above the Ashes, Pierce the Veil, Bring Me the Horizon and many others. On June 1st they released a new single entitled Puzzle 3 – “Consequências”, and returned to Brazil in August 5th to promote the new single and announce their new music video for “Consequências” to be released on December 19, 2011.
The concept of the band is to bring together musical styles as puzzle pieces into rock that together form a whole new musical design, originating “Puzzle Rock”. With each release something new is proposed and tested visually and musically, they have undergone formations that ranged from 6 members (4 support musicians: Guitar, Painter, Bass, Beat Boxer) to only 2, Guitars and drums being just PreX and JoeY on stage.
With a very distinct artistic concept, energetic performances and a repertoire that ranges from light to heavy sounds, Ink en Soi uses versatility in musical tastes to create music with spontaneity and originality without being stuck to tendencies and stereotypes.
